NAC/SETAC Regional SETAC NA Meeting Student Travel Award
This travel award was established in 2009. The fund
provides monetary travel awards for deserving graduate students or exceptional
undergraduate students to make an oral or poster presentation at the SETAC North
America Annual Meeting. SETAC & NAC-SETAC’s missions are to support the
development of principles and practices for the protection, enhancement and
management of sustainable environmental quality and ecosystem integrity. To
this end, any student who is a NAC member and active in scientific research
related to: contaminants and other stressors in the environment, education in
the environmental sciences, and/or the use of science in environmental policy
and decision-making is eligible to apply. Travel support of up to $800.00 will
be made available to the successful applicant. Only one award is made per year.
The awardee is chosen by the NAC-SETAC Board of Directors. Selection is based
on completeness of the application, academic qualifications, professional
service, and your advisors recommendation letter. To be considered, all
completed applications must be received by the posted deadline of September
15th. Selected awardee will be notified by September 30th.
IMPORTANT: Award will be made in the form of a reimbursement check after*
attendance at the meeting. Award recipient must provide receipt documentation
(registration, hotel, transportation) to receive payment. This award is to help
defray costs, it is not intended to cover them completely. *If
travel presents a financial hardship, special consideration may be given to
provide the award payment prior to the meeting. This issue must be addressed in
the application package for consideration.
